During the seventh annual Philadelphia Latino Film Festival (PHLAFF), I was selected to speak at the Opening Night, representing local filmmakers. My speech touched on the issues Latinx immigrants face in Philadelphia and steps the community can take to share Latinx stories. It was an honor to speak at PHLAFF! Over my three years with the festival, I’ve grown as a filmmaker and am now a Programmer with the festival.

As an emerging filmmaker and a third year festival volunteer, it’s such an honor to be given the opportunity to speak at #PHLAFF2018 . Shout out to the all women of color Social Media Team lead by the amazing @lzixxaa ! Can’t wait to join the Programming Team next year! 💕🎥🎉
Thank you Philadelphia Latino Film Festival for allowing me to speak at the opening night of this year’s festival! It’s so important to have spaces where we can connect to art and express our realities. Watch my speech around 1:20:17 below.
