Kristal Sotomayor bilingual documentary filmmaker and editorKristal Sotomayor is a bilingual (English & Spanish) filmmaker, cinematographer, and editor based in Philadelphia. Currently, she is the Communications and Outreach Coordinator for Scribe Video Center and a Programmer with the Philadelphia Latino Film Festival. In addition, Kristal has been the recipient of many fellowships including the Hanna Holborn Gray Research Fellowship and Film Studies Program Fellowship from Bryn Mawr College, the NextDoc Emerging Filmmaker Fellowship from Youth FX and The Carey Institute, the HCAH Flaherty Seminar Student Fellowship from Haverford College, and the Film Scholar Fellowship from Scribe Video Center.
