On April 9, 2019, I was part of the Behind The Screens hosted by Temple Department of Film and Media Arts, Temple Queer Film Collective, and Mise-en-Femme Productions. Other panelists included Oscar Molina, Marie Hinson, and Maaman Rezaee. The panel was moderated by Sowjanya Kudva and touched on filmmaking basics, funding, film industry insights, and helpful tips for students.
Returning for the second year, Behind The Screens is the largest student-run film organization event bringing together students, alumni, Philadelphia filmmakers and arts organizations to network with each other and cultivate community.
The night included two panels with diversity as a focus, a vast array of film organizations showing off internships and opportunities, and a special interactive space to engage directly with the intersections between filmmaking and diversity-related topics.
