To My Motherland is accepted into the Grand Rapids Feminist Film Festival! As a recent graduate from a women’s college, it’s an honor to have my film screen at a feminist festival!
The Grand Rapids Feminist Film Festival is a free one-day celebration dedicated to elevating voices and showcasing talent from historically underrepresented groups in mainstream media. The festival is located in Michigan at the Urban Institute for Contemporary Arts (UICA). In the past three years, the festival has received over 2,000 film submissions and welcomed over 3,000 people of all genders, races, ages, religions and abilities.
Unfortunately, I was unable to attend the film festival but I hope it all went well!
